How I met him.

The first of 2008 my roommate came home having drinks with some friends from work. She asked me to go to a local bar and have a drink with her because there was going to be guy there she liked. I didn't want to go because I was tired and I didn't look like going out. She ended up talking me into going and we got down to the bar, we grab a booth and a drink. The guy she liked showed up and he ending up sitting next to me. The drink ended up just putting me to sleep. Her friend kept pulling on my sweatshirt to hold me up so I wouldn't get in trouble for falling asleep. About an hour later we drop her friend off at his apartment and we went home and I went to bed and crash. The next morning I had a friend request from him and he had sent me a message asking what I was going that night along with his number.  That night I had plans to go down to the local piano bar for a friends birthday. I went to the party but left early so I could go hang out and watch a movie at his place.

His birthday was just a week later so I took him out to dinner. I asked him about 20 or so questions... Questions like... Did he had any children. Had he ever been married. Did he talk to his family and was he close to them. Did he have a job. What did he want out of life. Did he want to get married and have children. Did he have any piercings or tattoos. Did he do drugs. He answered the questions correct (to my standards). He also said, 'you know this is our first date' - I replied 'yes, I know'. My thought was, if you don't answer these to my standard then we didn't need to start dating. I knew what I wanted in a boyfriend and future husband. I had dated the bad guys and the guys that didn't have the same goals in life as me or even belief's. I knew I wanted to start dating with a goal of marriage. I knew that I wanted to travel and see the states before starting a family. I wanted one child with the maybe the thoughts of one more later. I wanted a guy that believed in Jesus and God. I wanted someone that would wanted to raise our family with the same belief's in the lord. I wanted someone that would enjoy a glass of wine or beer while watching sports, but not a lush. Someone who would watch horrible reality tv or a sappy romantic movie with me. I wanted a family man, being the only child I'm close to my parents. I grew up seeing my grandparents and cousins every couple of weeks. I wanted someone that had a degree that had a passion to work. Someone that wanted to travel and not just sit at home but also enjoyed a Saturday night on the couch watching movies and eating frozen pizza. I didn't grow up with my dad going hunting or fishing. My dad was and still is a hard working man that kept the yard mowed, the pool clean, could build anything and fix everything, and never called into work. I knew that I didn't want someone that wanted to spend hours in the woods or someone that didn't have drive. I wanted someone that would be like my dad, in a way. I knew I wanted a year engagement and I wanted to wait five years before we started our family. To say I knew what I wanted was an understatement. I knew what I wanted and I wasn't going to just settle for anything else.

After his birthday dinner we saw each other every day and then about a month later we decided to make it official, July he moved in with me, October 11 we were engaged, October 3, 2009 we were married. I love being married to him more than I would ever thought I could.  I am so thankful that my roommate asked me to go to the bar that one Friday night when all I wanted to do was fall asleep on the couch while watching TV.

Declan at 13 and 14 Months

Declan: 1 year and 2 months and 1 year and 3 months

What a crazy 2 months! Your birthday party, Thanksgiving, 13 month bday, Christmas, New Years and 14 month bday....

We traveled a lot these past couple of months and you did wonderful

Heres just a few things we did these past couple of months!
  • November 20 - Lights at the Ozark and Parade - It was cold, way to many people so we left early, you still did better than I expected.
  • November 25 - Santa at the mall - You just looked at him and then us and him and us, you didn't cry so it was a success!
  • November 26 - Thanksgiving, we had everyone at our house for lunch and you spent the night with your Gigi, Mooh and Pooh.
  • December 5 - We went on the Christmas train and got to see Santa (again!) I really think you like the train ride, you looked all over the place!
  • December 6 - Off to Springfield to see some family!
  • December 9 - Amazeum! You are still very small there are just a few things here for babies but what you could do you loved it. We'll go back when your older and bigger!
  • December 12 - We went to Little Rock for your grandpa's family Christmas. We stopped by Bass Pro and saw Santa again because I was told the Santa's there are amazing but I was not impressed and most likely won't go back there! We stopped by your uncles house and you showed them how to play peekaboo and made everyone clap for you, on command of course. We went back to Little Rock and had dinner with your other aunt and cousins and so you could meet them for the first time!
  • December 19 - Branson with Gigi. Went shopping and then to Silver Dollar City, we rode the train and met Rudolph! We tried to wait for the parade but you were so tired (no nap) and it was a little cold so we left early and went and had dinner and came home. You crashed within 5 mins after dinner and didn't wake up until we got home 2 hours later.
  • December 24 -25 - Christmas eve and Christmas! You were soooo cute in your little outfit and everyone at Church thought so too. We went back to Benton and had Christmas with your Gigi, PePaw, uncles, aunts and cousins. We stayed for a few days went to Hot Springs to see your Grandpa, Nana and Maw Maw and then came home the next day!
  • December 30 - Tulsa aquarium - You LOVED the fish, you would bang on the window for them to come to you!! Super cute and so much fun!
  • December 31 - New Years Eve - Dinner with Mimi and Poppi and Kay.
  • January 1 - 3 - New Years Day and weekend - We went back to Little Rock area on New Years day and you stayed the night with Gigi and Pepaw so your daddy and I could go to the Liberty bowl in Memphis with some friends!
  • January 7 - You started WALKING all over the house
Wow we were traveling so much and it didn't bother you one bit! You are a trouper!

At 14 months you......
  • You weight 20.3 pounds
  • You wear size 3 diapers
  • You wear size 12 month shirts, 9 month pants, and size 3 shoes
  • You say Dadda, Momma, Dat, and Book, More, Milk
  • You officially started walking all over the house January 7! You walked from the Kitchen to the living room and then all over the house for the rest of the night. You would fall all the time but you would get up and walk. You never got upset when you would fall.
  • You will pull the pillows off the couch on to the middle of the floor and will walk over to them and fall on to them and then you laugh.
  • You started doing this super adorable smile when the flash on my phone comes on. Please don't ever stop doing that cheesy smile, I can't get enough of it.
  • We took our week of vacation the week after Christmas. During vacation you slept for 14 hours every night! It was amazing and I hope you love sleep like that when you get older!
  • We took you to the Tulsa Aquarium and you LOVED it. I had a feeling you would like it but you wanted those fish to look at you more than anything and you banged on the windows so hard!
