Declan at 18 Months

Dear Declan: 1 Year and 6 Months

You weigh 22.8 pounds
You are wearing 6-9 and 9-12 month pants, 18 month shirts, size 3 diapers (size 4 overnight), size 4 shoes.
You have 12 teeth and you have some more coming in (I think your canine teeth are coming in)! This past week you've been running a low grade fever and have been very cranky and a small cough.
You sleep from 6:30pm-6:30am during the week and 1 nap from 12-2 sometimes until 2:30; on the weekends we are usually running errands and eating dinner late and visiting friends and family so you don't get to be until 7 or 8 but you usually sleep 11-15 hours and still take a 2 or 3 hour nap.
You are TERRIFIED of lawn mowers. You don't like to hear them or see them. It's kinda funny and sad!
You love love love going down the slide and you love swinging high! You just giggle! It's so adorable.
You are climbing on EVERYTHING and love to climb on the couch now that you're tall enough to get up there on your own.
You still love to read. You give us the books to read them to you and then you take the books away from us and go on our own because we aren't looking at the pictures fast enough.
You love to golf. Its about the first thing you start to play with when you get up in the morning and the first thing you play with when we get home.
You can love pointing to your nose, ear, and hair.
You can say dada, momma, milk, more, nite nite, nana(banana), all done, no no, thank you, bubbles, down, TA-DA, duck, bye bye, dat (Mickey), ball, my ball, book, turtle, dog, mililk

I can not believe that you are 18 months old and only a short 6 months from your 2nd birthday. You are starting to say 'No' when you don't want something or don't want us to do stuff. You love being outside and get very cranky if we tell you no we can't go outside for whatever the reason is. You are starting to get in your terrible two stage. You are hitting when you don't get your way or throwing stuff at people and you have even gotten in trouble for bitting. We are starting to put you in time out for these things and you can't play with your favorite toys. I hope this doesn't last long because I hate when you get in trouble. Your tantrums are the funnest things to watch.... You start to cry/whine and then you lay on the floor on your tummy with your head down and then you roll over and you just lay there. Not crying, not kicking your legs, nothing. Thats its. Thats your tantrum. We just laugh at you and walk over you. Normally its when you are super tired and you want us to carry you.

Sweet baby Declan you are the reason why I get up in the morning. I can't wait to see your face and smother you with kisses. The look on your face when you see your daddy or M & P and you run to them as fast as you can makes my heart melt. I love you so much that you will never understand!!

Declan at 17 Months

Declan: 1 year and 5 Months

You weigh 22.2 pounds!!
You are wearing 12-18 month shirts, 6-9 and 9-12 month paints, size 3 diapers but size 4 over night diapers, and size 4 shoes.
You sleep from 6:30pm-6:30am during the week and 1 nap from 11-1 sometimes until 2; on the weekends we are usually running errands and eating dinner late and visiting friends and family so you don't get to be until 7 or 8 but you usually sleep 11-15 hours and still take a 2 or 3 hour nap.
You can say dada, momma, milk, more, nite nite, nana(banana), all done, no no, thank you, bubbles, down, TA-DA, duck, bye bye, dat (Mickey), ball, my ball, book. I love to hear you talk and can't wait to hear more words!!
You can build towers with your mega blocks.
You can point to your nose and hair/head and you just recently started pointed to your toes and ears when we say 'Where is your ears or toes'! We are still working on eyes and tummy.
You can climb up the 'rock wall' to your slide without help!! You have figured out how to sit down and then slide down the slide. You get up and do it again.
You love your swing and you love your play house. We have to let you tell us when you are ready to come in because you love the outside so much that you don't want to come in.
You can climb up the stairs up to the porch and then you walk to the back door.
You still LOVE books! You will bring us books to read and then take the books from us and then go sit by yourself and read the books.
You have a basketball goal and you love making baskets and showing off.

Declan you are getting so smart! You have been learning so much so fast its kinda scary!! I can tell you to go to the bathtub and you know where to go anywhere in the house. I tell you go find dada and you find dada. I can tell you to go your highchair and you go to your high chair. We took you to the Gentry Safari this month and you seemed to really enjoy it! You growled at the animals in the drive thru and you just stared at the giraffe when we fed it. You have really started enjoying ketchup. You love dipping chicken and hamburger and even your fingers and then licking it off! We have given you some ranch, it was funny to see your face but you seemed to like it!

Declan at 16 Months

Declan: 1 year and 4 Months

You weight 20.8 pounds
You are still wearing 12 month shirt, some 6-9 paints some 9 - 12 month pants, size 3 diapers, and size 4 shoes.
Your 4 molars have finally popped thru, I feel like they have been coming in for months now!
You still walk everywhere and almost running! Like a really fast walk!
You sleep from 7pm-6:30am during the week and 1 nap from 11-1 sometimes until 2; on the weekends we are usually running errands and eating dinner late and visiting friends and family so you don't get to be until 7 or 8 but you usually sleep 11-12 hours and still take a 2 or 3 hour nap.
You still love your bath time and you love pooping in the tub just as much.
You love food! You've started getting more independent and are wanting to feed yourself and not have us feed you.
You can say dada, momma, milk, more, nite nite, nana(banana), all done, no no, thank you, bubbles, down, dat (Mickey).
You've had a double ear infection this week, you were so sad looking because you didn't feel good. I felt so bad for you.
You LOVE Mickey and freakout when you see him, it's so cute!
When Curious George ends you say 'uh-oh'

Declan you are getting so big and so independent. You are having more tantrums but I just calm you down and tell you that we don't behave like that or act that way and then I hug you and off you go. You really only have these tantrums when you are super tired.

Declan you are the sun in my darkest days, I love you more than you will ever know.
