Declan at 29 & 30 Months

Dear Declan: 29 & 30 Months (2 ½ years!!)

• You weigh 27 pounds
• You are wearing 12-18 month shorts and some 2t shorts and 2t shirts
• We've moved you up to size 5 diapers a month or so ago, still wearing size 5 over night diapers.  
• We had to get you bigger tennis shoes, they now 7! But the other size 6 shoes still fit!
• You have found a love for pizza and waffles/pancakes. It's amazing what you will and won't eat. It drives us crazy but you're still growing and still gaining weight.
• You sleep from 7:30-8:00pm-6:30am during the week and a  nap from 1:00-3:30 sometimes until 4; on the weekends we keep you up until 8 and you usually wake up right at 12 hours but will just play in your bed and let us sleep in for a little bit longer. 
• You have started talking more and more clearly every day. You can now finally say 'Yes' and actually know when to say it! You can say 'Monkeys jump on bed' (meaning you want to watch Kids YouTube) You can say 'get up', 'sit down', 'car', 'outside', 'bed', 'pizza', 'no likey', 'yucky', 'be right back' (and you hold up 1 finger when you say it) hoes you (hold me), who da? 
• You hate having your hands dirty. you come to use and wait for us to wipe them off. 

Whew! We have been busy the past few months and it's only going to get busier this summer! We've celebrated daddy's birthday, St. Patricks day, went to Tulsa to see Sesame Street, you spent spring break in Hot Springs with Papaw and Nana, saw the Easter bunny, had Easter where we got to spend it in Benton with Gigi and Papaw and other family members. We went to Silver Dollar City, Springfield, Everton, and a few other cities to visit more family. We went back to Little Rock/Benton and went to the Little Rock Zoo and then saw Disney on Ice! Then you spent a week Gigi and Papaw  in Benton. Gigi and you went to Chickfila, a pet store, to Bass Pro, and to the movies!

You are such a trooper! You just went along with us, with your tablet in tow and your cup of milk or water, oh and we can't forget monkey, he goes everywhere too!  Thank you for being such a great kid. I know you get frustrated with us as we do with you but you really are amazing! I really can't believe that we have 6 months left until you turn 3! I better start planning your party!

Declan at 28 Months

Dear Declan: 28 Months

• You weigh 26.7 pounds

• You are wearing 18 month and they are short! 2t jeans (for length and we had to let some buttons go in the adjustable waist!!) 2t shirts, size 4 diapers size 5 over night diapers and and size 6 shoes.

• You have been very picky this month with food. We will offer you everything and anything and you won't take it or eat it. We have to sit you in timeout to get you to eat. You like Chickfila chicken and pizza! You will eat a bunch of fruit and snack food but you won't want anything we eat. Nanny B says you eat good at her house so I don't know what to do!

• You sleep from 7:00-7:30pm-6:30am during the week and a  nap from 12:30-2:30 sometimes until 3; on the weekends we keep you up until 8 and you usually wake up right at 12-14 hours but will just play in your bed and let us sleep in for a little bit longer. 

• You can count to ten and say some of the ABC's with help! 
• We've had the bug again this month! We were getting ready to leave to go out of town and you threw up. All. Over. Me. the couch, and the floor.... We decided to go ahead and just stay home, good thing daddy and I go it 2 days later. 
• Valentines was this past month! We went to one of our favorite restaurants and had a sweet little dinner. You looked so cute in your little robot shirt we got you to wear!

Your terrible twos are in full swing.  You don't want to eat, you don't want to mind, nor listen. You get grounded from your tablet more than you get to use it and you have been in time out a lot. You like to cross your arms and say NO and hit at us. You crossing your arms is cute and I have a hard time from not laughing at you. Declan you can get on my last nerve but I can't imagine life without you. You are my everything!!

Declan at 27 Months

Dear Declan: 27 Months

• You weigh 26.5 pounds and 34 inches tall!

• Your two-year-old molars came in this month!

• You are wearing 18 and 24 month and 2t jeans (only for the length though, they are adjustable waist and are as tight as we can get them) 18 month shirts, size 4 diapers size 5 over night diapers and and size 6 shoes.

• Your favorite foods are: Banana, blue berries, apples, grapes, oranges, Chickfila chicken, ketchup, bread, yo baby yogurt, gold fish, Veggie straws, Cheerios, french fries, crackers, cookies, pizza, breakfast bars (you call them cookies) and anything that's on our plates.

• You sleep from 7:00-7:30pm-6:30am during the week and a  nap from 12:30-2:30 sometimes until 3; on the weekends we keep you up until 8 and you usually wake up right at 12-14 hours but will just play in your bed and let us sleep in for a little bit longer. 

• New word this month! Apple Sauce! (But only in the green pouch not the red!)

We went to Hot Springs this past month and you stayed with Nana, Papaw, and Mawmaw while daddy and I went to the races. You had so much fun with them! You love playing with their dogs learning how to go up and down their stairs. We stopped and got Gigi and Papaws dog on the way home and dog sat for them while they were out of town. You loved having Shorty here and he loved being here. He wouldn't leave your side! 

We started a new church this month and we really like it! Your uncle Garland teaches there too! You're not a big fan of the nursery, you cry when we drop you off and if we don't get there to pick you up before the other kids leave you start crying. The teachers say you are good after we leave and you play but it just breaks my heart that you cry as soon as we check you in. We are hoping that it gets easier the more we go.

Big news of the month is that we are finally a paci free house!! You would only take it at night but we took it from you and you only asked for a few times and then was over it. Now to get on to the potty training!  

We are planning a lot of fun vacations this summer. So far we are going to Tulsa, Kansas City, Dallas, Florida, St. Louis and Chicago! Of course we still have our trips to Little Rock/Hot Springs and Springfield to see family! We can't wait to take you to all of these fun places and have you experience new things!
