Declan at 8 Months

Declan: Eight Months

You wear 6 month clothes

You weigh 16 pounds and you are 27 inches (finallllly you are past that 14 pounds!)

You still wear size 2 diapers

You take 2 naps a day, usually around 10 and 2. You go to bed 6:30pm and wake up at 6:30am.

You usually eat about 6 bottles a day with about 6oz in each, your last bottle can go up to 8oz

You eat 3 meals a day. You have fruit with cereal in the morning, fruit or some veggies for lunch and then some veggies and yo-baby yogurt for dinner.

Your favorite foods are avocado and sweet potato (together) and any type of fruit. You really like all food and you're like a baby bird with your mouth open waiting for the food to come to you. It's so stinking cute.

Your favorite toys are your tiny basketball, Cardinals baseball, your Cookie Jar and Cookies, your guitar and air plane.

Your bottom two teeth just came in this week. Thank goodness we were on vacation this past week since you got up 2 times every night for 4 nights. Even when you're teething you're still a great baby, slightly fussier and wake up during the night wanting to be held and/or a bottle but go right back to sleep.

You can sit up by yourself and you can pull your self up on everything, and you just kinda fall down on you butt to get back down.

We had to lower your mattress on June 19 because you learned how to stand up in your crib!

You still army craw but not as much now that you know how to big boy crawl.

You have started holding your own bottle but still would rather someone else hold it.

You have this fake cough you do when you want attention. It's adorable and everyone ask you if you're ok and then you smile at them.

You are still sleep amazing in the car and you proved it again on our trip to Florida this week and the way back! So thankful for this!!

We just got back today from our first family vacation! We went to the beach in Florida. You LOVED the ocean. This makes my heart so happy seeing you love the waves coming in and wanting them to come back so you can jump in the water. You also got to spend the entire week with your Gigi and Pepaw and uncle and aunts and a couple of your cousins. We took 2 days to get there (stopped and saw some friends along the way). Then on the way back we drove overnight back to Benton and you slept from 7pm when we left the condo until we pulled in the driveway 330am (8.5 hours) and then you took a bottle and went back to sleep until 9:45am!!

Every night when I feed you your last bottle of the day and you're falling asleep in my arms, I start to cry because I know this won't last forever and one day you won't be small enough to fit in my arms and on my lap. I love your sweet little face and the way you look up to me when you are on the floor and you want me to pick you up. You know no stranger, you have no fear, and will let anyone hold you. Your daddy and I love you to the moon and back.

Declan at 7 Months

Declan: Seven Months

You wear 3-6 pants and 6-9 month shirts (the 6-9 months paints are big around your waist)
You weigh about 14.5 pounds.
You wear size 2 diapers
People make a lot of comments about how adorable you are and that you should be a baby model!
You take 2 naps a day, usually around 9/10 and 2. You still are going to be bed around 6:30.
You hardly wake up anymore thru the night. Every once and while you just want your paci and you go right back to sleep. We have been lucky on the weekends, when you wake up you take a bottle and go back to sleep util 8-9.
When you get tired you start rubbing your eyes.
Your favorite toys are the jumper (you think people holding you is a jumper!) and you love all your toys, especially the balls.
You are starting to sit up by yourself but I spot you because you still fall over sometimes.
You love food. Such a boy. I can't get the food to your mouth fast enough and you are super impatient and you hit the table and scream/cry.
You love bath time. You splash and play with all your toys.
You started swimming lessons on May 30, and you loved it!! You went every Saturday until the end of June. We plan on taking you every year!
You love all big kids. You just stare and laugh at them.

I can't believe its been 7 months. People weren't kidding when they say time flies when you're having fun! You are getting so big but you're still so small. You are army crawling and its so cute. You will get up on your hands and toes, like a push up, and then fall and then do it all over again. You are so eager to learn how crawl but still scared. You're almost cutting your bottom two teeth. Maybe by 8 months you'll have some teeth. Declan I can't say this enough, I am so happy you're ours. Your daddy and I love you so much. I love seeing you grow and I love seeing you with your family that loves you.

Declan at 6 Months

Declan: Six Months

You wear 3-6 month clothes
You still weigh 14 pounds.
You are wearing size 2 diapers
You love sweet potatoes and avocados and all fruit!
You just started eating a lot more this week, like you hit 6 months and now want 6 oz of food!
You go to bed around 6:30/7:00 and wake up around 530/630; on the weekends I can give you a bottle and you'll go back to sleep in the swing until 8-9.
When you get tired you start rubbing your eyes. It's so sweet.
You usually go right to sleep in your crib once you're down.
You still chew on anything and everything you can find.
You like sitting up but you're not a huge fan of sitting in your bumbo.
You are getting closer to sitting up by yourself.... Hopefully next month you'll be there.
You sleep in the crib at night and you move all around it.
Your hair is still light brown.
You have figured out how to blow bubbles/make raspberries. It's the cutest thing ever.
Everyone that meets you says you're the prettiest baby. I have to agree with them, you are the cutest baby ever!
Depending on if you wake up on your own or if I have to wake you up depends if you're happy or not =) If you wake up you are usually very smily but if I wake you up, you are grumpy, like me!
You love playing with people's faces, pulling hair, necklaces, glasses.
Your favorite activity is the exersaucer. You can be in it for 30 mins and not even notice. It's the best thing ever to keep you entertained!
You started this new thing when you're eating and its so stinking cute! You open your mouth stick out your tongue and then smile waiting to get your food.
This week you have started getting on all fours and you rock back and forth, it's like you want to start crawling, you're just unsure of yourself.
You were baptized on Mothers Day. My first Mothers day will always hold a special place in my heart.

I can not believe it has been six months since you came into this world. It's been a crazy busy six months but I wouldn't change it for the world!! I really don't know what we ever did without you. You keep us on our toes and we love you so much Declan. I love seeing you learn new things every day and I swear you know you are cute and that you have everyone wrapped around your finger.
